  • What Cricut® machines can I use with Cricut Craft Room™?
    • Cricut Craft Room works with all of our Cricut machines including: the Original Cricut, Cricut Create, Cricut Expression®, Cricut Expression 2, Cricut Expression 2: Anniversary Edition, Cricut Imagine®, Cricut Mini™, Cricut Cake®, and Cricut Cake Mini.
  • How do I connect my Cricut® machine to Cricut Craft Room™?
    • After installing Cricut Craft Room onto your computer, plug your Cricut into your computer using a USB A/B cable. Open Cricut Craft Room and sign in with your Cricut account. If your Cricut machine requires a firmware update, you may be prompted to update your machine at this time. If you are using a Cricut Expression®2 or Cricut Imagine® machine, connect your machine to Cricut Sync at www.cricut.com/cricutsync and perform any updates before opening Cricut Craft Room.
  • Where can I purchase a USB cable?
    • You can purchase a USB A/B cable at many local retailers.
  • What is the difference between the desktop version and the online version of Cricut Craft Room™?
    • The desktop version allows you to cut, design and save. To use the desktop version, you must install a small piece of software onto your computer. Then connect your Cricut® machine to your computer and start designing and cutting. For PC users, make sure you have the correct Cricut machine drivers installed on your computer. You must still have an Internet connection to use the desktop version.
      The Web version allows you to design and save from anywhere. No downloads or installation required, just an internet web browser! Play, design, and save projects from anywhere with an Internet connection. When you're ready to cut, simply log on to your desktop version.
  • Do I need an Internet connection to use Cricut Craft Room™?
    • Yes, you will need a live Internet connection to use Cricut Craft Room.
  • Can I access Cricut Craft Room from anywhere I have an online connection?
    • Yes, you can access Cricut Craft Room from any live Internet connection.
  • Is Cricut Craft Room™ available for both PC and Mac?
    • Yes, Cricut Craft Room is compatible with both PC and Mac.
  • Is Cricut Craft Room Free™?
    • Yes! It's absolutely free to view and design with the entire library or artwork on Cricut Craft Room. You can even search for any image on any cartridge. All you need is a free Cricut account. Then, after you're done designing, you can cut with any cartridge or images you own. All Cricut Craft Room users can design and cut with the free Cricut Craft Room Basics digital image set.
  • Can I design with any cartridge?
    • You can view, search, and design with any image on Cricut Craft Room™ for free. You can cut with any cartridge or images you own.
  • Can I cut with any cartridge on Cricut Craft Room™?
    • You can cut with the cartridges you own, just like the Gypsy®device. You do get Cricut Craft Room™ Basics, a digital image set, for free to cut with.
  • How do I cut with my cartridge that I already own?
    • There are two simple ways to cut with your Cricut® cartridges on Cricut Craft Room™. First, when you select the Cut button, Cricut Craft Room will prompt you to connect the cartridge(s) used in your design. Or you can link all your Cricut cartridges to Cricut Craft Room to use any time.
  • What is cartridge linking?
    • Cartridge Linking is a feature available in Cricut Craft Room™. When you link a cartridge, the images on that cartridge will be unlocked in your Cricut® account. You will no longer have to physically plug that cartridge into your machine to cut from Cricut Craft Room. Your Cricut machine may require a firmware update in order to access cartridge linking.
      A cartridge can only be linked to one Cricut account. You DO NOT have to link a cartridge if you do not desire. You can click "Continue" to cut your project without linking the cartridge. If you do not link your cartridges, you will be prompted every time you cut to insert your cartridge.
      If you do link a cartridge to your Cricut account, you will still be able to cut with the cartridge outside of Cricut Craft Room if you insert the physical cartridge, similar to a cartridge after it has been linked to a Gypsy®.
  • How do I link my cartridges to Cricut Craft Room™?
    • To link a cartridge to your Cricut® account, follow these steps:
      1. Log in to Cricut Craft Room with your Cricut account
      2. Create a project, click "Cut" and select your device
      3. View the Preview screen and adjust settings if desired. Click "Cut" again
      4. Insert the cartridge into your Cricut machine as prompted
      5. When the cartridge is detected, click Link Cartridge
      6. Read the End User License Agreement and click I Accept, Link Cartridge. Craft Room will then link your cartridge to your Cricut account

      Next time you use your Cricut Craft Room account to cut images for that cartridge, you will notice a green "link" in the Cartridges Used list. You will now be able to cut images from the linked cartridge without physically plugging it into your Cricut!
  • Can I cut from any computer?
    • On Cricut Craft Room™, you can cut from up to two computers with Internet access. You can designate which computers those are, and you can change those two computers once every six month. You can design and save projects on any computer with Internet access.
  • Can I buy digital images through Cricut Craft Room™?
    • Yes! You'll find selected collections of digital images for purchase in a wide variety of themes and styles that are perfect for any type of cartridge. Check back often—we'll be adding great new digital images all the time!
  • Can I save my files in Cricut Craft Room™?
    • You will be able to save design files created within Cricut Craft Room. You will be able to access your saved files when you log into Cricut Craft Room using your Cricut® account from any browser on any computer. You can also import and use Gypsy®files.
  • How do I export and import Gypsy® files?
    • Export Craft Room Project for importing into Gypsy:
      1. Open Cricut Craft Room™ and log in to view your saved project list.
      2. Select the project you wish to export and click the "export" button near the bottom of the screen.
      3. Make sure the radio button next to "Gypsy" is selected.
      4. Click "Begin" to export your project.
      5. Save your project to your computer desktop or other location on your computer.
      6. Close Cricut Craft Room, connect your Gypsy to your computer and run Cricut® Sync.
      7. When your Gypsy projects appear, click "Add Projects."
      8. Locate the exported file on your computer and click "Open." The project will be added to your Gypsy.
      Export Gypsy project for importing into Cricut Craft Room:
      1. Connect your Gypsy to your computer and run Cricut Sync (make sure Craft Room is NOT running at this point).
      2. When the projects on your Gypsy appear, locate the file in your project list and drag and drop it on to your computer desktop or other location on your computer.
      3. Close Cricut Sync and disconnect your Gypsy from your computer
      4. Open Cricut Craft Room and log in to view your saved project list.
      5. Click the "import" button near the bottom of the screen.
      6. Locate the file on your computer and click the "Open" button. The project will be added to the Cricut Craft Room.
  • Can I export my Cricut Imagine® files?
    • Not at this time.
  • How can I learn to use Cricut Craft Room™?
    • To help make Cricut Craft Room easy to learn, you'll find great overview videos as well as in-depth tutorial videos here. A help section is also available in Cricut Craft Room.
  • How do you do layering in Cricut Craft Room™?
    • When using images with multiple layers, you will want to make sure that Relative sizing is turned on. This setting is located in the top tool bar. If Real sizing is active, click the icon to switch to Relative. Then, set the Dial Size (found within Options under the Craft Room tab) for your base image. Now add all the image's layers to the mat. All the layers will be sized to fit together perfectly.
